Port Investments & PPP Course learning objectives
The objective of the course is to provide participants with a thorough understanding of how port and terminal investments are assessed from a PPP, financial and financing point of view.
Competence building
The course provides participants with the knowledge required for using the most relevant tools in in-depth port investment assessments:

• Business case analysis
• Transactions: Concession contracts and competitive contract awarding

Participants are provided with a step-by-step approach to prepare the most suitable Public Private Partnership structure, a Business Case, Concession Contract and a Financing Scheme.

Each training day will run from 10am-5pm and all materials, refreshments, lunch and accommodation are included in the course fee.
There will also be a number of (optional) course activities throughout the three days, including welcome drinks on the first night and culminating in a course dinner on the final night. This will enable delegates to interact and share their own experiences and thoughts on what they have learnt with their peers.

3rd Annual Port Finance International Black Sea

The 3rd annual Port Finance International Black Sea Conference took place on 1 & 2 March 2011 in Istanbul.
Over 150 industry leaders from the region’s ports and terminals and those involved in port investment and development attended and shared their insights and experiences of the market and growth potential in the Black Sea region. This year’s conference placed particular emphasis on the opportunities for business in Black Sea ports in Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria and a special visit arranged by UKTI (who hosted the conference in the wonderful setting of Pera House at the British Consulate) brought prominent UK companies to demonstrate the expertise and services they can offer to this sector.
The conference was opened by Jessica M. Hand, Director of Trade & Investment Promotion and HM Consul General, Istanbul who emphasised Turkey’s strategic position and the advantages this offers for trade and transit.
