News - Pecem plans port improvements
23/9/10: The Brazilian Port of Pecem is looking to spend around $1.3bn on upgrading its infrastructure over the coming six years, Business News Americas reports.
It is understood that the upgrades will result in a 500% increase in the Port’s current container handling capacity.
Additionally, the upgrades will also include the lengthening of the breakwater; the installation of a coal conveyor system; and various expansions to both the Port’s docking area and shipyard.
