Berend Paasman Senior Vice President at DNB Bank’s London based Shipping, Offshore and Logistics group, will share his knowledge and experience working with PPP projects from a bank’s perspective.

 

About the trainers

Wouter van Nus is manager for MTBS (Maritime & Transport Business Solutions B.V.). After obtaining his Master's Degree at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, he has been involved in several maritime and shipping related projects in The Netherlands and abroad for both public and private clients. Projects he executed include transactions, institutional analyses, location studies, financial engineering, trade and traffic forecasting, PPP structuring and equity valuations. Wouter acquired specific experience in the field of management, economics and financial advice. His project portfolio has a broad international coverage with projects in Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. Besides consulting experience Mr. van Nus has experience in Container Terminal Operations and gained logistic and operational knowledge at container terminal operator APM Terminals (APMT). Experience in the dry and liquid bulk sector was obtained at Schouten, an international player in the agri industry. Since 2009, Wouter teaches on port strategy and investments on a regular basis.

Victor Van Leengoed is manager at MTBS (Maritime & Transport Business Solutions B.V.). He has obtained Masters’ Degrees both at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, International and Business Economics and at Delft University of Technology, Civil Engineering. Mr. Van Leengoed is a CFA candidate level 3. At MTBS he gained experience through various international port development projects in Australia, Kenya, Liberia, Maldives, Mozambique, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Slovenia, South Africa. He has given lectures at Master level and at conferences on the topic of Port Finance and Port PPP. As Manager Project finance at the Treasury Department at Royal Boskalis Westminster, a leading global company operating in the dredging and earthmoving, maritime infrastructure and maritime services sectors, he has gained international experience in the fields of project finance, export finance, financing through grants, payment security structures and financial modelling. He has carried several projects towards financial close and he was responsible for all cash flow related matters (model, price escalation) in the winning bid for the EUR 1bn land reclamation and infrastructure construction of 'Tweede Maasvlakte' port project. As Production Engineer at the same company, he has obtained technical experience at various international infrastructure projects.
